Description
Bringing Up Boys Summit with lifetime recording access!
Right now our society is facing a boy crisis. Relative to girls, our boys are struggling.
- struggling at school,
- struggling with friends,
- struggling with mental health,
- struggling with alcohol and other drug use and abuse,
- struggling with pornography, sex, and intimacy,
- struggling with emotions,
- struggling with screen addiction…
… and they’re struggling with what it means to be a boy. As a parent, all you want is for your child to thrive.
Science tells us that the greatest predictor for your son’s wellbeing is his connection with you.
The Bringing up Boys Summit, presented by Happy Families, is about one thing: taking you into your son’s world and helping you connect with him in the way he needs you to.
You’ll be blown away with the extraordinary ideas shared by twelve experts in different areas that today’s boys are challenged in: boys and sex, boys and pornography, boys and screens and gaming, boys and friends, boys and alcohol and drugs, boys and violence, boys and emotions, and so much more. Our experts will show you how to help your son in a wise, positive way.
Ultimately, you won’t just find solutions to help your son through friendship breakdowns, the lure of drugs, anxiety and other mental health issues, or even the life-changing process of puberty. You’ll find ways to rekindle the connection you both want… and both need.

Delicia Moraleda –
3 years ago, I moved to Australia with my husband and our two young sons. I was terrified of what this big move across the world would do to my boys if I didn’t show up for them in a way they needed. I have never been more grateful to having my phone ‘hear’ me and the answer came with this summit popping onto my facebook feed. I immediately signed up and listened to every single interview, sometimes listening to the same one twice in a row and I filled 2 notebooks full of notes. This information and insight gave me confidence to know I could hold my boys through this phase of our lives and also reassured me that I could come back and reach into in the developmental phases to come. As a woman raising boys, who grew up with a sister, I needed to see and hear and understand the world through a boys experience – and this gave me that. THANK YOU.

I was able to participate in this summit as both a mum of a boy and as an education lecturer. It exceeded my expectations in both of my ‘roles’. I came away with practical tips that I can use immediately with my son as well as amazing, current research that I can share with our future teachers. I am so grateful that, through Happy Families, we have access to so many passionate professionals that believe in our boys, their incredible strengths and potential.

So fantastic!! Full of gratitude for the high level/ quality conversations and brilliant engaging interviewing conversation style of Justin. I have tons of notes and feeling far more aware, confident, positive, empowered and knowledgeable to walk with my boys with them on this journey towards manhood. Full of gratitude to have ongoing access to this rich expertise & wisdom.

Excellent summit packed with honest, practical and couragous advice. I found the most helpful sessions to be: intro and Q&A by Dr Coulson, screens, men of honour, and rites of passage. These sessions especially encouraged me that we can be couragous in talking about and challenging harmful cultural trends and that spending time, listening and talking with our boys is our priority and responsibilty during these short formative years. Thank you so much!

I feel like the knowledge that has been shared has been like reading 50 parenting books in one day, that the skills I can develop to help my son to grow into a caring and empathic teenager and then man who is responsible and able to have accountability and be the ‘best man in the room ‘ is the take home prize.
I feel energised and so full of wise advice to lead my sons (only 3 and 7 right now) into this world as 2 of the most amazing men people will know.

My husband and I have 3 boys. This summit has helped me recognise I parented in fear and knew so little with our first son. I’m so thankful for the wealth of knowledge and understanding around how to bring up boys. I felt so ill equipped and now have a wealth of gems, tools and resources to turn to. Thank you thank you to Justin, all the amazing speakers and fantastic team at Happy Families. Wow!

Dr Justin Coulson has a brilliant way of breaking down complex issues and explaining them to parents with clarity and compassion. I really enjoyed today’s Bringing Up Boys summit and will continue the learning process by going back and watching some key moments. Thank you to Justin, and all the experts – who kindly shared their expertise.

I am actually grandparent and retired teacher. I feel much more informed about the challenges facing our children as parents but also ‘the village’. I feel empowered. I want to share it all with my kids. I feel it provides a platform of help that is non-threatening. Me regurgitating it with my bias is threatening. Breadth of content – amazing! Knowledge, credibility, qualities of ALL presenters amazing!
Karina Davis –
Everything!! I loved the variety in topics and having the opportunity to do a live zoom at the end was a great way to see that as a parent of boys we aren’t alone and we are in this together.

Confirmed many of my ideas and believes. Empowered me to stand Big and Strong and keep working with my kids. Many informative sessions to come back to. Thank you very much. This should be compulsory for every parent of teenage boys: getting a Certificate in Teenage Parenting 🙂
